Some of us are in habit of checking Google PageRank and Alexa Rank of websites we visit. While this can be easily done in IE & FF using Google Toolbar and Alexa Toolbar – what about Google Chrome?
Current version of Google Chrome does not support Google Toolbar and Alexa toolbar – but there is workaround to get similar functionality in Google Chrome using bookmarklet JavaScript.
After you install this Google Chrome Plugin (or bookmarklet JavaScript), you can easily view Google PageRank & Alexa Rank of a current webpage in a popup window after clicking the bookmark button.
HOW TO INSTALL THIS PLUGIN / BOOKMARKLET JAVASCRIPT?
First turn ON the bookmarks bar by Tools > Always show bookmarks bar. Then, Right click on the bookmarks bar and select Add Page. In the Name field, enter “PageRank Status” and for the URL field paste:
javascript:void(window.open(“http://www.chromefans.org/pr/?u=”+escape(location.href), “PageRank%20Status%20-%20ChromeFans”,”width=405,height=120,top=0,left=0,location=0″))
To see this in action, click on ‘PageRank Status’ button with a website open to view its Google PageRank & Alexa Rank information. Useful add-on till we get Chrome compatible version of Google and Alexa toolbar.
