We often shortened original webpage URL into short format using URL shortening and snipping services (like tinyurl, bit.ly). Ideally, you cannot know the URL behind the shortened URL until you click through and open the weblink. Google Chrome users can preview any shortened URL by hovering over it with the help of ‘View Thru’ extension.
View Through any shortened URL in Chrome
Launch your Chrome browser and download / install View Thru extension. After install, hover over any shortened URL and it will display original URL in pop-up window (as seen in screenshot). It supports number of popular URL shortening services like: bit.ly, cli.gs, ff.im, goo.gl, is.gd, nyti.ms, ow.ly, post.ly, su.pr and tinyurl.com
